About Lyn Blanchard
I am an author, a consultant, and the founder of a number of technology companies. I’ve been developing business strategies, strategic alliances, conducting market research, and engaging teams to rise to the next level for years. I drive for results and get them in everything I do.
I’ve rolled up my sleeves and experienced what it’s like to be an entrepreneur working to get a new business off the ground. It wasn’t always easy, but with self-determination, passion, hard work and a bit of luck, I’ve made most of my business dreams come true—and so can you!
Born and raised in Northern Ontario, I always dreamed of owning and running my own company—in fact, I was the only child in my neighbourhood who carried an attaché case to school! With business on the brain I ran a number of lemonade stands and puppet shows to collect as many nickels and dimes as possible.
I went on to graduate from Laurentian University with an Honours degree in Commerce (SPAD)l. From here I began my official business career.
Fascinated with technology and the emerging digital age, I was instantly drawn to technology companies. Over the next twenty years I worked for a number of technology start-ups as well as larger companies. During this portion of my career I found myself working in a variety of marketing, sales, business development and senior executive positions—all of which were extremely exciting and satisfying!
Eventually, in 2000, with many years of well-earned experience under my belt I started my own consulting company. This led to my co-founding several technology companies as well as serving on numerous Boards and Advisory committees.
Though I’d like to pretend I am, I must admit that I am not all business—I am an avid sports enthusiast enjoying tennis, hiking, weight training, golfing and watching football. I have been on the board of directors for several non-profit organizations as well as being active in many philanthropic activities. Honestly, I believe that giving back brings good things to those who help others, which is an integral part of building the kind of karma that brings in capital!
